About Our Company
Haigh Landscapes is run by Danny and Amber Haigh. They have been working together since May 2018, delivering high quality design, construction and maintenance of Cornwall’s beautiful gardens. With years of experience in horticulture, construction and engineering between them they can combine this expertise into in one place and create beautiful spaces.
Both Danny and Amber are exceptionally passionate about their work and being self-confessed perfectionists, they will always do a job to the best of their ability. In short, they will treat your garden with as much love and care as they would their own.
I started my working life as a mechanical engineer which I loved. It just clicked. Ticked all the boxes for me. When my children came along, I wanted to spend more time with them so had a career break. I retrained in Horticulture in 2015 at Cannington College, and subsequently worked for Bath Council in the landscape department. It was a great insight into commercial horticulture. I then formed my own business for a few years, before joining Aspire Defence for 8 years and working as a Landscape Manager responsible for the new build on 6 garrisons in Wiltshire and Hampshire. For the last two years, I was working as a construction manager, mainly on the civils side.
I am a member of IEMA (instate of environmental managers and auditors) and was a member of the APM (association of project managers). I have a NEBOSH certificate, first aid at Work certificate, a SMSTS (site managers safety training course) and a black CSCS card. I also have experience of working with asbestos in the ground and am up to date with CDM2015.
I am passionate about Horticulture and creating beautiful spaces. I am naturally a very creative person, and paint landscapes in oils. I love creating but am also very practical, so this job suits me down to the ground.
I have over 35 years in the construction industry 20 years of those as a supervisor in civils, ground works, hard and soft landscaping. I am dedicated and committed to the work I do, whether its for myself or for another employee. I recently worked for the MJL group for the last 3 years, before this opportunity arose to set up Haigh Landscapes.
I am qualified as an SMSTS (Healthy and safety training for managers and supervisors), NVQ level 3 occupational work supervisor. CSCS Gold card, CPCS plant operators card, first aid at work, confined space training and CAT and Genny training.
I am committed to quality, and will go the extra mile to get the job done right. Client satisfaction is always high on my agenda. I also enjoy DIY and woodwork in my spare time, and pottering in the garden. I love living by the sea, whether swimming, walking along the beach or fishing.
